About me
Welcome. I'm Joanne, and I offer counselling and psychotherapy to support adults through life's challenges and transitions. Research shows that the most impactful therapy blossoms from a strong, trusting relationship, which is why I prioritise building that connection with you in our initial sessions. Here you will find a non-judgmental, confidential and collaborative space where you can feel truly heard and understood. This environment is where genuine personal growth begins.
How I work
My approach is integrative, which means I draw on a range of counselling and psychotherapy techniques to tailor our work to suit your individual needs. I'm passionate about helping clients to explore their concerns, build resilience, and navigate issues such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and grief. I also have a particular interest in women's health concerns, including endometriosis, infertility, and perimenopause, and am committed to empowering women to advocate for their well-being.
Qualifications and Experience
Academically, I hold a BSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Middlesex University, and have advanced my training with certifications in Loss and Bereavement from Cruse Bereavement Support (UK) and Suicide Intervention Training (ASIST).
I am a pre-accredited member of the Irish Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists (IACP) and I adhere to their code of ethics.
Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, I worked for twenty years in Irish financial institutions, which has given me a broad perspective on navigating the challenges and complexities of adult life.
If you're considering starting therapy, why not arrange a consultation to discuss how I might be able to support you on your journey towards a richer, fuller life.
